What is PPTX?

PPTX is the modern XML-based Microsoft PowerPoint presentation format. A presentation can contain slides, text, images, shapes, charts, speaker notes and other presentation structures.

Common uses

• Editable slide decks

• Presentations that need slide-by-slide structure and reusable objects

Advantages

• Widely supported in modern presentation software
• Preserves slide structure better than a flattened image or PDF

Limitations

Microsoft PowerPoint is the reference application. LibreOffice Impress and other presentation suites can generally work with PPTX.
